I’ve never tried it but would like to. Not sure the best way to make it come out right.

I am planning to make a major investment in a new sewing machine. I will be sewing a variety of things from garment construction to quilting. I can’t spend thousands of dollars but would like the best for my money. I’ve looked online but the reviews I’ve been able to find aren’t really satisfactory. Can anyone help? Your own experience with different machines will be much appreciated.

The sewing machine presently in use has problems with the tension knobs. It is more than fifteen years old. Have the features on newer machines changed drastically and is it practical to invest in a newer moderate priced machine — $200 range - versus having this older one repaired. The sewing machine will be used for quilting and home sewing projects. I’m not into fancy embroidering stitches but zig-zag is useful. Can anyone recommend the merits of different brands.

I have finished the top and am using plain flat bed sheets for the back and I have this extra high loft batting that says to quilt every 2-3 inches. What exactly does that mean. And, since I dont have a quilting machine, could you suggest an easier quicker way of doing this,(other than hand sewing the 3 layers together every 2-3 inches). this is a queen size quilt and I really dont want to spend the next month of my life in the floor sewing on this thing. .

You take 2 pieces of fabrics…draw your design on the top one and hand quilt around the image…Then turn to the back and using a large needle, pull dark colored yarns through from the hand quilting stitches to the other side of the design to color in your design.

I’m interested in quilting shows. How to make different quilts and techniques. In the St. Louis area we have none so have no idea what is available to ask for specific programs.
